My 2001 tahoe 300k miles original engine/transmision

I’ve had several vehicles all over 200k with no engine issues; IMO it all comes down to changing the oil every 5k with full synthetic. No miracles needed.

I made it to 296k on the original trans. had to tow it back home 1000 miles with my FIL's truck. trans rebuilt now. No plans to get rid of it. we'll see how far it will go.

Keep the oil and filter changed and basic maintenance and it will last a good while longer. My Silverado has over 420k on it, remember maintenance is cheaper than a new vehicle

Hope mine lasts that long. I have little idea how previous owners treated my vehicle... I know the tranny was replaced about 40k ago. I changed the fluid and it was dark but smelled ok. I have the normal leaks which i may wait to fix...
