Mud flaps removed paint

So one of the first mods I did was to remove the mud flaps on my 2001 Yukon. To my surprise, the mud flaps rubbed the paint off of each fender along the edge of the mud flaps. I'm going to get some paint and touch it up. Should I spray or use the little touch up paint bottles with the brush in them (they sell them at autozone)?

P.S. truck is black.

Depending on how well your paint was taken care of during its life, it might be easier to do one or the other. Sanding and repainting with spray would be best if its really bad.

My paint was gone as well as a lot of rust so that is what I did.

I used duplicolor perfect match with clear over it and it turned out nicely.

Paint is in great shape except where the flaps scraped it down to bare metal.

I'd try the scratch/chip repair first and if if bothers you re do it.

I've tried it on a couple spots but it looks stupid up close.

I'm not a painter though so hopefully someone with more experience will come through

This is why flaps suck.

The amount of damage they do vs. Protect from....... is the same.

On top of that they look ****.

Yea. I couldn't stand the way they looked....took away the "toughness" of the truck. I'm considering installing stock running boards because I *think* they may play a small role of mud flaps for the front (they appear to provide so,e coverage by design) and they may improve the stance of the vehicle (going for a tough/mean look).
