MTX ThunderForm Chevy Tahoe 2007-2010 Custom Sub Box

Just installed this in my tahoe lt today.. Annoying!!! But sounds great. Only got the box.
kicker cvt10 shallow mount.

Had a little kenwood mono amp that was collecting dust to power it.. 200-300 RMS..

Sounds nice. Definitely doesn't shake the truck or anything. But def much much better than stock boss sub.

Looks good! I had the JL Stealthbox in the same spot before and it definitely adds some good bass to the front stage. What exactly didn't fit properly when putting the console back together?

Yeah... The console wouldn't drop to the same level in the front... Like I needed to cut out the space for the cup holder... Or I didn't push the thunderform deep enough under the receiver. Idk

Did you cut the tabs off from under the cup holder area? That's what i had to do to install the jl stealthbox and everything fit back fine.

No unfortunately Mtx's instructions don't say so... I'll give it another go cause I'm quite bothered by the way it looks right now. Thanks!!!

It was actually my fault. There was a factory cable under the thunderbox that was keeping it from being flush with the tahoe floor... I moved it out of the way and its fine now... The thunderbox is sounding better an better as it breaks in

Good to know you were able to fixed! Yea the console sub is a great solution for adding good clean bass up front and giving up zero space.

the box with the mtx amp already installed sounds good to me, its also nice not have to do an amp install somewhere else.

How is everyone securing these to the floor? The instructions say to use a 2 inch screw but that sounds a little sketchy to me...

I didn't even bother bolting it down. The center console holds in place just fine!

Based on the quick read, no one secured this to the floor? Aren't you worried it will somewhat move and eventually start to vibrate/rattle the center console?

I have a 2011 Yukon Denali. Not sure how similar this would be to a 2011.

Question, did you have to take the seats out to install this box? Where did you put your amp for this box? How long did it take you to install this box? This is very good information that was discussed on this board and I will using this to install. thanks

I found this guy on eBay that sells a complete kit for the center console install. Has anyone used his boxes before? Seems very reasonable considering it comes with the wiring and amp that all fit nicely under the console.
