1997 Tahoe 2 door with 1998+ heated mirrors added by me.
Was the passenger and drivers door mirror glass available as a replacement level item or did the entire mirror need to be replaced?
If just glass can be replaced then Id appreciate the PN for heated passenger side glass as mine has seen better days and is no longer clear.

I know you can just stick a replacement glass over the existing glass but id rather not go that approach.
Thanks

Here are the mirrors from the part diagrams. It doesn’t look like the heated ones were serviceable (I know the subsequent generation’s weren’t) but searching through the part numbers (right hand column) may turn up something.

The bad news is it appears that there is no GM or aftermarket replacement heated mirror glass for our vintage vehicles GMT400- there is plenty of non-heated glass available from the aftermarket (Burco) as well as from GM(PNs are 12382607 and 12382608)
The good news though is that while complete aftermarket replacement heated mirrors are absolute crap quality(they shake like hell at speed- they gave me a headache from the bouncing image) - the heated mirror glass can easily be removed from these crap mirror units and used to repair/replace the degraded mirror glass in your GM mirror. You will need to remove and replace the backing plate from the aftermarket glass(using heat and being VERY careful) with the GM backing plate. I have an email in to Burco if one can purchase just the circular backing plate( with no glass) that attaches to the GM mirror internals controls. That would make the R&R process extremely simple. You could even add heat to non heated mirrors if you replace the glass with heated glass and add single power wire into the doors coming from your defrost button along with a ground wire to the heated glass.
Thanks
