Looks like GM has issued a stop sale order on a large number of vehicles with the 6.2L engine. Massive recall will be coming next. Apparently after the cars are repaired their oil recommendation will change to use the Dexos R oil specified for Corvettes.

Here is some info. Looks like the 0W20 is gone at least for the 6.2l.

The recall has been issued and I just spoke to the service manager at my dealer. He said that they will bring the vehicles in change the oil to a higher viscosity oil (0W400), put on a new oil cap, and then check the computer to see if it has a certain code. If it has that code then the vehicle is immediately “condemned” and it sits there until they get a new engine… probably months. He said it is going to be a disaster for GM.
