Good job finding the guy that hit the yukon, and I'm happy for you he's paying for it. On a side note most states would not charge him with OWI/DUI unless they caught him driving that night. The police would have no proof he was drunk when the accident happened since they would not be able to test his blood alcohol level, if caught later. They could however charge him with leaving the scene of an accident.

well like you said there is only 2500 people. you tell the FUZZ and nobody wants to chill with you, young punks egg or key your ride..you did right! make him pay and tell him if you hear of him driving drunk again you'll smash him in the nose...but maybe the money out of his pocket will get him thinkin.
on a side note. in a small town its probally a short walk to anywhere,*and maybe he just needs a positive role model*

on a side note I like the new sig bliz.. I agree that sometimes a stupid kid should get a second chance without effin over their life before it's started. I've never driven drunk, but still he needs the shit scared out of him so he won't consider doing it again.

like, pretend your driving drunk with him...and have a dummy (fake person) in the road...a little kid...then while he's talking to you...swerve and hit it...then freak out saying you just hit a kid and leave the scene! haha...that'll scare him straight!

Thanks Tahoe! :D I love it

Sometimes you have to be a standup guy and give a person a second chance, doesnt mean they'll jump back in a car drunk, besides look at the so called "SOBER" ones driving foolish like playing Startsky and Hutch catching air time in a busy intersection.
Now that would suck ******* up some innocent persons life that had the misfortune of being in the wrong place at the wrong time

Your right...I do dumb stuff as well...but jumping a vehicle in a straight line when its NOT extremely busy (although is dangerous)...is nowhere near as STUPID or dangerous as driving drunk... at least Im fully aware of what I'm doing and I'm trying to be as cautious as possible...

if you already had the guy on the hook for the repair, why bother working on it? it only means he gets off paying less for the damage he did.

O trust me i had him pay for it and a little extra there was already a dent on the panel that he didnt know about that he thought he did i didnt let him away that easy i might have not made him pay for my dent if he would have hit me and told me but since he drove off it was a whole new ball game

This is what I dont understand...it shouldnt be whether they are scared of the LAW or jail or court...the chances of being punished should NOT have anything to do with this....

People should automatically believe its the wrong thing to do because your chancing other peoples LIVES...It has nothing to do with DUI...or a record...or fines...he should have never WANTED to drive after he'd been drinking... :imo:

---------- Post added at 04:58 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:54 PM ----------

Your right...it was resolved...your truck is being taken care of....its not something to just let slide because no one got hurt..

He's already driving without thinking of the safety of other peoples lives...
If he stops because he doesnt want to get caught, thats the WRONG reason...He needs to stop to protect other peoples lives

I don't know as the reason really matters as long as the outcome is he never does it again. Anyone he DOESN'T hit won't care that he quite because of fear of punishment, not out of a higher moral code. It's a small town, keep an eye on the kid, IF he's stupid enough to do it again, drop a dime on him. If he doesn't, if he learned his lesson, you possibly saved others lives as well as his. And by showing some mercy you possibly saved his life in other ways too, like someone said, not giving him a record. IF he does it again though hammer the shit out of him.
