Magnaflow muffler options

First of all, yes I did search and didn't find the info I was looking for.

I am replacing the muffler on my 08 tahoe and am not sure which muffler to get from magnaflow. I know that the 12589 (5x11 oval 22") is a very popular option but I am worried that it will be too quiet. I am looking for something similar in sound to the Corsa Sport exhaust. Has anyone run either the 11229 (4x9 oval 14") or the 11259 (4x9 oval 18")?

Any input would be appreciated on the options.

I have the 12589 and like the sound. It's quiet when stopped and loud when you get on it. If you want it louder you can delete the resinator. Not sure how the other models sound.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but is the factory exhaust 3"? I was gonna order the 12589 for my wife's Tahoe but didn't know the factory exhaust pipe size.

I have dual w/ 2 #11225s. Yes sounds like Ryan said, but if you hear my truck go by it has this kind of "muffeled cough" sound. Not good & don't know why is sounds like this?

this is true. I was shown when it was up in the air. I was gonna get a full system, but the guy who did this for me was Why? Its already 3' piping. Why pay for piping you already have? Its a lot cheaper to cut out the muffler and resonator.

Do you have an x-pipe to balance the exhuast pulses? Also what size piping did you use? If the piping is too big for the flow, it will be turbulent and not efficient (potential loss in performance and degradation in sound).

I wound up getting the 11259, and got a great deal on it from black bear performance. Good people to work with. I am going to be putting it on this weekend and will let you guys know what I think.

I just checked. The 11225 is a 2.25" pipe.

I went with the 11249 and it's sounds perfect, nice deep tone, no drone and sounds awesome when you get on it.

Got the muffler installed on saturday, and I love it. Not too loud at idle but at WOT it sounds damn good. Will try to get a sound clip within the next couple days.
