My 2009 Tahoe 5.3 started running poorly. Had already changed plugs and wires and it ran better for a while, but was just a little off and seemed like it needed a lot more throttle when accelerating. Idle was a bit rough. I started using premium fuel and that seemed to help a lot. But a couple months of premium fuel and it started running rough on start up for 10-20 seconds.

I cleaned the MAF with CRC MAF cleaner and it started running better, even on regular unleaded, but my MPG for my work commute (country highways) went down from 15.3 average to 14.3. I saw one post online that said if you have a drop in MPG after cleaning your MAF, it is probably a bad MAP sensor. So, I replaced it.

After my first drive to work this morning, my MPG (after reset) was 17.3 average. Up 21% from the drive before. I just wanted to mention this, in case anyone has the same issues after cleaning their MAF sensor.
