Hey guys,
I have a 2011 Tahoe LTZ with full power bucket seats. The passenger seat, which we rarely even use, does not go forward and backwards. It just suddenly froze. All other functions are functioning well. There is no obstructions under the seat. Is there any kind of a circuit breaker or a fuse that just controls forward and backward motion? Any suggestions? Thank you guys in advance.

One circuit breaker powers both the driver's and passenger's seats, so it is unlikely that it is a circuit breaker issue.

Dr. Google suggests the following:

  • Check other directions: If the seat moves up and down or tilts, the fuse/breaker is fine.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the wire harness and orange power feed under the passenger seat for chafing or loose plugs.
  • Test the switch: Listen for a click or motor hum to see if the forward/backward switch has failed.

At this point, it appears that the source of your issue is either the switch itself or the motor.
