A full regen process takes ~12min. I have a Banks IDash installed to know when it's doing a regen in addition to watching other things like oil temp, boost psi, etc. While we mainly use ours for long family trips and it rarely does short in-town trips, there's been a few times where it wants to regen, but we need to turn it off and then the next trip is a short trip to town. The system is designed to regen as much as possible each drive to lower the soot load and get it down to ~0%. If there's too many short trips and it's not making much progress on the soot load with each trip, you'll get a notification to "continue driving to clean exhaust system." I've never had that happen personally, but I've seen others have received that message.I appreciate everybody's input, lots of good info. On the dealer warranty - I understand the potential gotcha's there. I'm not seriously considering it just because of the fuel economy of the 6.2L, but if I did I'd comb every line in the document. I'm that guy that annoys the sales/finance team because I actually read what I sign.
One other question, regarding regen. Since this thing would be used by the wife for a lot of short (5-15) minute trips around town, am I going to potentially run into issues with the regen process? I hear people say to just drive it like a gasser but I'm not sure if that's actually the case.
