or what about just checking a casting number? or are they the same? i know the lq9 is the way to go. the heads flow over 330 out of the box. the lq4 heads are garbage. good news though. the l19 heads can be bought from GM for $600. good luck finding them used. atleast around hear people snag them up before you know it.

So the heads on the lq4 and lq9 are different? I thought the main difference between the two was the comp ratio. What else is different between the two motors?

They are all 317 heads only differences are pistons and rods iirc.
