Truck is a 2001 Denali, 123k miles. Says everything works. Here's the deal. The front pass fender has a rust spot I will need to fix or replace fender. It's got a CAI. Bottom of running board is cracked. Rear bumper cover cracked. He says no other rust. I will see it tomorrow. Needs new lift gate handle installed, which he has. Needs abs sensor he says. And said slight whine from alternator but bench tested at 100%. I attached pics of the rough spots. Should I steer clear? I need something with third row to tow our airstream. I will be trading him my 2002 Grand Cherokee Limited with 2 inch lift and V8 plus my Supermoto motorcycle and he is giving me $2k plus the denali.
My concerns are reliability. I can handle little repairs but don't want to be left stranded. I know the 6.0 is solid. What should I check for when I see it and what should make me run.
My plans would be to change fluids throughout, repair fender, abs module, and lift gate handle.
Then tune and exhaust, with cams next summer. Put the rest into a maintenance fund.
