I held the lock and unlock buttons on my (generic) fob (I was told it would re-sync), and now the unlock doesn't work (lock still does)! Even worse, the keys to the ignition don't match the drivers door, so I can't manually unlock it either! (Car was stolen previously). Is there anything to undo whatever holding those two buttons on the FOB did!? Please help ASAP if you can as I need to use my car, thanks!

Old school method: Something to wedge the window frame open a crack and a loop of baling wire or telephone wire (something bendable... but somewhat stiff) from the top might let you catch the inside door handle and unlock when you pull up. If the crack in the door is wide enough, a long dowel or maybe a yardstick to push on the electric door lock button to open.

If you don't have time for either technique, or you are not comfortable DIY... AAA (if you have it) or locksmith can get you in in a few seconds.

Locksmith could also re-pin the ignition lock cylinder to match the doors. That can be done pretty easily and is one way to get back to one key for everything.

Other options:

If no wire or or stick/dowel/yard stick is available, you can slide a washer onto a loop of string to weigh it down and give you a way to make it swing over to catch the inside door handle after you drop it in. Swing the string back and forth in a way that will get the loop to catch the latch.

Not sure if it's true for all years of NBS, but on my '05 pulling on the inside door handle while it's locked does nothing. Have to unlock first.

You might try removing the battery from the remote and putting it back in to see if that resets what you did, but most likely a locksmith is your best option. As others mentioned, while you have him there, have him go ahead and re-pin either the door or the ignition so they match.

That is true on the inner door handle doing nothing while locked. Tried it just now on my 04. Always learning!

Easiest way would be to wedge the window frame open a crack and find something to push down on the electric door lock button on the arm rest. With it being a rocker switch facing up and being close to the bottom of the window, it is pretty easy to reach with a dowel, yard stick or anything like that. Coat hanger might be to bendy to push down on the button...

you need a lock smith. guy i called years ago had flat rod shaped like a double U, wedge in the out side window, put the tool down there then came back up with it on the inside of the glass, then there was another loop that went right to the door lock, guy was in my truck in less then 2 minutes. took longer to get the rod and wedge out of his truck.

instead try cleaning it with at lest 90-99% Iso alcohol I cleaned my fob it can go about 200 feet distance now.... before the unlock button would not work very well at all, you would have to be a few feet away and try a bunch of times for it to do anything

use a q tip

To wrap this up, I pulled the fob battery (several times) as was suggested and waited for a few minutes and finally on like the 5th try, viola, the fob worked again! I then went to a locksmith as was also suggested and it turns out when the car was stolen the entire front door lock assembly was literally gone (all the clips, rods, etc.), so I don't even know how anyone would have unlocked it (though I'm sure there must be a way).

Thanks for all the help guys!
