So i've noticed when i take sharp turns especially in my parking ramp at work that my rear tires will squeal. Has anyone else had this problem and if so did just a simple differential oil change help?

yes it doesn't seem to fully disengage when i turn sharp like it should so the tires squeal a little. Just wondering if changing the fluid will help this or is there damage happening?

Well i'm hoping that is not the case since theres only 60k on it. I'm going to take the cover off and change the fluid tomorrow. I'm crossing my fingers that it takes care of the problem.
I have a limited slip differential and I noticed that sometime when I am pulling out of my driveway the tires will spin on the dirt, and when I make the turn onto the pavement, the tires will kinda squeak/squeal and hop a bit. Is the differential doing what it's supposed to or is that not normal behavior?
That is normal because the wheelbase is so short and it turns so sharply. If you've never changed the fluid, I would change it anyway. Just make sure to use a good quality SYNTHETIC (required, factory fill) oil.

So they all do this? It does only happen when I turn sharp but i'm going to change the fluid anyways since i just got the gasket. What fluid should i use and how much of it? The guy at the auto parts store couldn't tell me.

There should be a drain plug under the housing ,no point taking off the cover ,and to refill approx.2.5 qts. or 1/2 inch below filler hole or one finger joint. Must be a quality synthetic 75w-90.

I thought there was going to be one too but then i talked to my boss who used to have a Z71 and he said there wasn't one that you could get a thing to suck out the fluid or just take the housing cover off and do it that way. Hoping he was wrong i took a flashlight tonight and looked for myself and sure enough there was no plug on the bottom. but i have heard of others having one so maybe the plug is just on certain years or models

just take out the 10 bolts, remove the pan by prying it a little, put something to catch the gear oil under it, drain.. inspect for any metals, cracks, etc etc. You can spray a brake or carb cleaner in there to really clean it out. not 100 necessary..
some like to use another gasket with rtv, some just use rtv to seal it back up. its your call.
torque the bolts back down then fill it up with the plug on the other side of the cover

I would say its normal. If I gave 00' with the g80 any good throttle into a sharp turn like that it would lock up and chirp the inside tire even my 285s did it. Thats my 2 cents.

Alright last question hopefully. How much should i torque them back down? I will be using a torque wrench

25 to 35lbs would be a good start. and torque them in the staggered star pattern

Of course now that i got all this stuff i couldn't get the tires to squeal at all no matter how sharp i turned oh well might as well change it all anyways so i know its been done.
