I just had a leveling kit installed and the shop that did it has one key maxed out(drivers side) and the passenger side is about half way in. The truck sits level but it rubs on the driver side(bumper a tad) even after trimming plastic. What I don't get is how one side is maxed out and rubbing and he other side is half way and not rubbing? Thanks

The gangsta gm lean! Just try to level it with adjusting the keys. My old one was only off in the rear fenders by 1/2"

Well it sits level as far as I can tell but I am wanting to eliminate the rub. The side rubbing has the key maxed out already. I've trimmed most of the plastic but it still hits when maxed out a tad on the corner of the bumper and a little plastic. I'm guessing my options are to get the 3 inch lift knuckles I believe they are called from RC I see people using, or a body lift (not wanting to do)? Tires are 305/50/20. Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the key adjustments not being equal. Torsion bars wear out over time like any other components, they normally don't wear at identical rates. The fuel tank is on the drivers which could have stressed the drivers side torsion bar slightly more than the passenger side causing the adjustment differences. Are you 2wd? If that's the case buy some lift spindles, they're cheap. The rubbing sounds like an offset issue. 305/50/20 is a small tire (less than a 1/2" taller than stock) and it shouldn't be rubbing unless you are running a crazy offset. I was able to run 33x12.50x20s on stock suspension (keys NOT cranked at all, just how it came from the factory) with only minor rubbing at full lock in reverse. After I keyed the truck I had ZERO rubbing. What kind of offset are you trying to run?

Yah it's 2wd. The tires do stick out about 1.5 or so not sure on the offset but that might be the cause.Any particular lift spindles to check out?

that's pretty common in these cars, you can buy after market keys and spacers for your rear springs but that's about it

Post some pics of the wheels and truck. We will help you beat the scrubbing. Did you install new lift keys with the level kit? Sounds like the offset is giving you issues so probably need lift spindles and decrank the keys some.

Yah I put new keys in, and spacer in the rear. I'll get some pictures of it tomorrow when I pick it up from the audio shop. Thanks for the help so far

Yeah that looks like its offset induced. You're either going to need to do more serious trimming, lift spindles (possibly both) or lose the wheels.

Is it rubbing the metal bumper corner? If so can take a grinder and blend the transition to the plastic lower section. Any rub on the back corner near firewall?

its rubbing on the corner of the metal bumper, it doesn't rub on the back but it is within a quarter inch of hitting. I might just do some spindles to fix all the rub problems. What is a good brand of spindles to go with?

Spindles are like keys, they are pretty hard to get wrong so I wouldn't worry too much about brand. This probably wont be a problem once you get the spindles on but you might want to check for rubbing with the suspension flexed. You definitely don't want force your wheel into the back of the fender/firewall out on the trail after taking an unexpected bump.

my question is why would a properly re-keyed t-bar key still be maxed out? that sounds like you need to put new bars in because if it is still maxxed with new keys your bar is wasted.
