What can be done to restore a roof rack that’s needing some TLC? Are they paintable? Powder coat an option?

I powder coated the one on my '95 K5. Have the shop be extra careful about corroded, or broken, bolts. You don't want to create any roof leaks. Mine came out great.

LOL, I also bought new wiper arms, to powder coat. Being smart and all, I didn't think about the fact that there is non-removable plastic in them; and powder coating requires baking.

Oh good call about the wiper arms. I’ve painted a few that never last. I’m thinking it’s the putter layer that needs to be robust, like a really good UV protection clear
