yeah trust me, i was gonna find a cheap round trip to illinois to buy and sign and ship.. but they wouldnt sell to me unless i was buying a diesel vehicle

a quick glance at the CA DMV website seems to imply that it needs to be registered out of state first, and then xferd

http://www.dmv.com/ca/california/emissions-testing

That sounds correct. When I buy vehicles in Arizona they come with a temporary Arizona Registration. Then I have to get the vehicle a smog check in California. Then go to the DMV and pay my fees. A month later I get plates in the mail.

Its been like that for 3-4 weeks now.

I sure do hope they get back to 9-10k off. Although Denali's are "rare" or "limited" or "in Demand" but they have more denali's than SLTs.

I've been contacting laura for weeks and they wont return any calls when they say they will or emails. Hopefully they'll contact me when new pricing is out

That's awkward. They picked right up when I called and even called me for a follow up about a week later. No emails tho, just straight calling.

Interesting....look at their GMC inventory. The "In Transit" vehicles have zero discounts. I'll be curious to see if they start discounting those once they arrive at their dealership next month or if these are sold orders that they are just advertising to gain perception of a larger than actual inventory size. It also seems that they are advertising the "In Transit" with the updated pricing.

I spoke with them twice. Sent a bunch of pics of my trade like I asked and havent got a number back. Ive called a few I times and am told they'll call back tomorrow. I'll try again when pricing is released. Cancelled another order I had and figured id go through them. I live in virginia, but would love a road trip in a new ride

They've always been like that. Most of the In Transit vehicles are already sold special order ones. That's the way mine showed up on their website as well. Once they got them, they then updated the discounts.

I wouldn't be surprised if GM didn't make them quit advertising those ridiculously low prices and put like call for price or something on there.

GM does not care what they sell them for. They sell the cars to the dealership at dealers costs, and it is up to the dealer to make a profit from there. Low margins, high volume is their strategy, and as long as GM rewards those who sell the most units, it may be the smartest strategy as the dealers who do not have any allocations can not make a dime.

Yeah we usually mark them up like $500 over the cost. So on a 70,000 vehicle you are working with a .7% margin of error.

I picked up my '15 XL SLT from Laura on Friday morning and thought I'd share my experience.
- Selected my vehicle from their inventory. It was approx. $7K less than the best price I could get for the same vehicle at my local dealers here in NC. My local dealer made me a bit paranoid telling me to "check the fine print". The only fine print item I found was the $1K assumed trade in value (I didn't do a trade).
- I called them and was assigned Brandon Treat as my salesperson. Very straightforward guy and not pushy. I wasn't thrilled with the color (my #1 choice was iridium but I settled for quicksilver) and he told me I should get what I want and he'd be glad to order me 1 for the exact same price but with a 4-6 week wait. Anyway, I took the 1 they had and gave him a $500 deposit on my credit card.
- I arranged financing through my local bank (PNC) and they simply gave me a blank check that I would present the dealer and the dealer fills in VIN, etc. to establish the lien.
- I bought a 1 way ticket to St. Louis for $175 and chose to fly up early Friday morning. Arrival was supposed to be 8:40a.m. and they would have a driver pick me up ("Van").
- I landed at 8:20 so figured I'd have to wait. Instead, as I was walking from the plane I got a call from Van. He had tracked my flight, knew I was early, and would be there waiting for me just outside security with a Laura GMC sign. Nice. Very nice guy. 87 year old WW2 vet.
- I easily found Van and we walked to the car and we were at Laura GMC by 9:25.
- My truck was clean and sitting right outside the front door of the dealership. Van brought me in and introduced me to Brandon. Brandon walked me to the car for an inspection. Everything was exactly as expected.
- We went back in, signed paperwork and he turned me over to Finance for that paperwork. Note I came prepared with 2 copies of my insurance card (I had it insured with the correct new VIN the day before) and a copy of my drivers license and my wife's. Between this and already having the financing worked out, the time in the Finance office was approximately 10 minutes.
- Back out to my new truck with Brandon for a thorough review of features/functions.
- I was out of there at 10AM exactly - I had been there approximately 35 minutes.
- A wonderful 17 hour drive home. Got to know the vehicle, set up the onstar, etc. and did not encounter a single problem.
- Was very worth the $7K I saved and couldn't be happier.
- Plan to install the Suspension Maxx leveling kit and the 33" Nittos this week. Will post pics to that thread.
- Glad to answer any questions regarding my experience. I have to say it all seemed too good to be true and my wife was super skeptical but it was 100% legit.

When will we be able to call Laura and be able to order the 2015.5 with the 8 speed transmission? Has pricing and everything been released for that yet?

Oh and one other question, is there a dealership that offers pricing similar to Laura but for Chevy?

Generally these forums have better information than the dealerships themselves. Thanks.

I can tell you that Laura GMC will be receptive to answering those questions over the phone. They were awesome when I called and answered all my questions. Give em a shout! :)

This would have been a less painful route; but, they can't order a truck with the emissions junk required in fantasy land.
