Hi guys,

Just bought a 04 Yukon and its rear windshield wiper motor doesn't seem to work. However the windshield wiper fluid works fine

I checked the fuses in the engine bay and also near the drivers side door panel and they seem fine.

I ordered another motor and plugged it in, but still nothing. No whirr, no noise, nothing.

I'm just beginning to learn how to troubleshoot electrical issues. Is my next step to see if power even reaches the motor? Am I looking at replacing the harness?

when i bought mine used it worked fine and in 3 months it stopped working. I thought it was the motor but i could hear the motor buzzing. Asked to the dealer to check it out for me and it was some loose parts inside they tightened. Not all dealers are out to get you, especially if you get work done there.

I would stop by the local service dept of your local chevrolet dealer and see if there is a technical service bulletin - that will explain how to fix your problem.

It could be a multitude of problems and a dealer or garage could diagnose the problem much easier then someone on the internet. Throwing parts at it - with the hopes that the problem will go away will only leave you with a empty pocket and a box full of parts that you did not need.

When you say loose parts inside, do you mean inside the rear hatch? Reason I'm asking is because mine is doing the exact same thing.

there was an issue and TSB with the wipers jumping from having an insufficient ground... way up in the engine bay :) Maybe you lost yours completely?

Could also be a bad module?

Id sure start with power and ground at the motor and try working my way back...

when you shut the hatch do you hear something still banging around even after its shut?

if I were you I'd take the plastic panel off and check inside

I sheared the whole motor off and it was just laying at the bottom of my hatch
..granted I had an 18 with 1k watts slappin the hell out of it

Yes inside the hatch, but I cant remmember what part it was. I knew something was strange since it just suddenly stopped working, but you can still the motor buzzing when you turn it on.
