Just got my car back from my local stereo shop. They fabricated the dash and tray bezel. I did all the wiring and integration for the iPad and radio (I know not much). The iPad slides in and out from the passenger side.

Really cool and looks very clean. My only issue with this if I were to consider this myself is that these stupid Ipads get updated so frequently, in a year it's going to look obsolete...hopefully not but knowing how the industry goes. Just saying...sorry, not trying to rain on you're parade. It does look very slick.

Pioneer/Kenwood/Every aftermarket radio companies radio's get updated every year as well. Get it to fit the iPad you have, within a couple years, new stuff comes out, upgrade the dash...

Oh believe me I know this trend very well. I currently own every iPad and iPhone model ever made. There's no knowing what the future holds for electronics every year. One thing is certain, there's always going to be change. You either live with older technology or pay the price for new. Custom work is never cheap :(.

Hopefully aftermarket companies such as Metra begin to make dash replacements that will allow this. Wishful thinking I know but there's always hope.
