I did a little searching and didn't see this one so here goes:
I bought this 2002 Tahoe at an auction about 6 months ago. About a month ago, the mileage and gear indicator starter blanking out intermittently. On my to do list to solder it up. Third brake light doesn't work and cruise doesn't work. On my to do list. Yesterday my wife came home and said some lights were on in the instrument cluster--cruise, 4WD (truck is not 4WD), and high beam. I looked around a little and found the remnants of a security system under the dash which I removed. All fuses are good. Noticed when the headlights are on manually, the 4WD acts as high beam indicator. Also, the truck just rolled over 166k miles but now has reset itself to 0 km (and it's working--now has 000040 kms). I'm thinking cluster, turn signal multi switch, or BCM. Anyone seen one like this before?
