Last 30 day camping trip my wife decided we needed a bigger camper. That quickly pushed me out of the Suburban and into a F-350. I thought for sure I would buy a GMC 3500HD but the Ford suited me better. Don't flame me! I traded in the Suburban last week and pick up the new camper next week.
This is a great forum with few to no trolls. All very helpful members. I appreciate all the help and humor you have given me.
I will be posting my 2015-2020 Hell Roaring dual battery setup using GM cables in the marketplace cheap and include the upfitter connector that used to power my dashcam.
Here is a pic of what used to seem big (the Suburban) behind my F-350 that now seems BIG. I.e won't fit in the garage big.

If you don't want to be flamed, then WHY did the F350 suit you better than a GMC or Cheavy 3500?
Show your work, so we can learn something and annoy GM dealers until they learn to keep guys like you.

I congratulate you from the bottom of my heart))) but the love for GM is cruel and merciless))) I left GM myself 7 years ago, selling the 2014 Tahoe and buying a Mercedes GLS, but still returned to GM 3 years later. I wish you success with Ford, and don't lose your love for GM)

I was sure I was going to trade the Suburban in on a GMC and I really liked my Chevy dealer, but on the test drive there were a couple things I didn’t like. The Gwiz features weren’t as self-explanatory, the connection between the gas pedal and moving kind of had a lag, and the seats weren’t as comfortable as I expected. Similarly I test drove a Ram 3500 and it was a little more workmanlike but a great engine. So finally I checked out the FORD and there wasn’t anything I didn’t like. It had a great engine, it road smoother than the GMC, the seats were more comfortable with full massaging. The G whiz features were more intuitive (and there were more G whiz features) and I did like the argon blue color. I have been driving about 20,000 miles a year since I retired and I’m sure with the new camper I’m gonna spend a lot of time driving that truck so I ended up just getting exactly what I wanted.

I've driven my cousin's truck on a few long trips because he wasn't as comfortable towing as I am.
We were transporting cars about 1,200 miles.
I have zero complaints with the F350.
Very comfortable, tows amazing and tons of power.
The nav can be a little wonky but other than that, it is a great truck, especially if you're doing a ton of towing.
Don't completely abandon us, come and check in from time to time.
Who knows, you may end up with another GM down the road.

Nice truck….. And, yea about the sizes….. nearly a semi-truck compared to your Burb beside it !

A couple days ago, I was at an intersection / stop light…. A nice guy, in that same truck, ran out to me, gave me his business card ( welder )…… He said, “ If you ever want to sell your Yukon, I’ll buy it ! “ I jokingly said to him, “ I’ll never sell it “…..
I get offers or compliments every month !

Hate to see you leave the GM family but happy to know you’re committed to the camping life! And, that F-350 is an excellent safety tool for the job. You’ll be happy! Drop in an keep us posted on your adventures and how you’re liking the new rig. And when you get a new camper, post pics of that too!

Math:
$New Camper + $New Truck < $New Wife
So Stipulated, Granted, & Understood, exactly why I did not bring it up.

Only thing missing from this answer is 'the red badge of torque'.

i dunno….guy up the street just got a new Denali 3500 and DAMN its fine as hell. That would be my ride, but hey if a few minutes behind the wheel convinced you to switch families then what can I say. Pretty sure you could have found the right rig in the GM flavor but maybe Ford is where you need to be. After working on a few, Ill never own one. A lot of of their engineering makes no sense to me. A blower motor in a F150 comes to mind quickly. Pretty much anytime i worked on one. Since you bought it new you wont have to worry about that though, will you? ;) Good luck in all your endeavors.

It is big, and very nice! I once had an F-150 Lariat and I had no complaints. Traded it for a 2007 Sequoia, which was better for us and our son still has it. My dad had a nice Chevy pickup back around 1970 with a slide in camper. We had many good trips, cross country, up and down dirt and gravel roads, it was great. Now we have a Denali and love it (except for the 6.2 recall, oh well). The point is that life can be enjoyed in many ways. Enjoy your Ford!

Curious... what were the deciding factor on needing the bigger trailer? bigger family? guests?
