Made a huge mistake friday.. I got lazy and let the dealer ship change my oil. I usually do it myself, but got lazy. But anyway, went out this morning to drive it & what do you know. A huge oil spot in my garage. Its got to be coming from the filter, the plug is dry and tight. its sitting at the dealer ship right now, waiting on the dumb a$$ to come back into work tomorrow. This is a pic of it sitting at the dealer ship. Someone has some explaining to do.

Agreed, I do my own oil changes. It obvious you are pissed, and not trying to preach to you; but keep your cool and let them make it right, everyone makes mistakes. If you throw a tantrum, they will more than likely decide they don't want you as a customer, fix your current issue, and not offer anything for your time.

I hope it all works out for you.

Don't you love it? Not even a simple task like an oil change is done properly anymore nowadays.

here you go ... can't do anything about the oil, but maybe this will make the day a little better.

got to be one of three things and none are excusable

1) do not over tigten the filter. It will bind and leak

2) do not under tighten or it will leak.

3) Most important of all. check to make sure the old oil filter gasket came off with the filter. If you put a new filter on and have two gaskets on it will either leak like a sieve or completely blow off.

If number 3 is the case you are very lucky you didn't blow the engine. Or maybe unlucky because the dealership would have to replace the engine.

Oh, and i had a coolant leak coming from a dry rotted water pump gasket. But i just replaced the pump also while it was off./ But they did forget to take the old oil filter gasket off the block. So (bankswood) Kudos to ya bro.

My Hoe has been a champ, so i guess a little routine maintenance doesn't hurt.

I've done that once, was in a hurry and didn't check to make sure the gasket came off with the filter!! Made a pretty good mess!! :Plugged:
