Just to get an idea of where I am at, how many miles did/do you have on your original tranny? I have 143K on mine still runnin' strong. I have it regularly serviced. Also, I put in a vette servo and shift kit.

167k.

It's easy to get well over 300k out of it, but you can't beat the piss out of it and expect it to last.

Pulled the original tranny out about a year ago. Had 226,000 miles. Still ran good except when pulling my boat. After it heated up it would shift real hard going from 1st to 2nd.

got 184k on my 99 denali

It never towed anything before I purchased it a couple months ago though

Friend had 260k on his k1500 before it went last year, towed with it all it's life and has been plowing for the past 5 years with it.

If you do your service on time and don't beat the piss out of it they tend to last a long time

I just ordered a whole new tranny from PATC. Been working like a champ! It only has 20K miles so far so it better be working great.

Oh, thinking myself that even after the rebuild that happened I may end up just replacing the valve body entirely. Some moron attempted a shift kit and screwed it up so I am stuck with a hard 1-2 just so the the other shifts are normal. And the rebuild already cost me $2500. Did not have time to shop around and order a gm or other unit.
