How do you remove/replace the Rear Window Hatch Switch?

The cheesy rubber cover wore out, and I had to buy a whole new switch. How do you remove the old one?

I searched YouTube and found a few videos on how to replace it without having to dismantle the hatch. Start to finish I had mine replaced in 2 minutes.

If you're careful, you can use a pick tool and pop it out. There's a thread here where someone did it without popping/breaking the applique off

Just found this part at Rock Auto for $19.35 + 2.47 shipping. Will buy this for my daughters Yukon.

Experiencing the same issue on my '09 Tahoe LTZ. Just ordered a new switch from Amazon (AC Delco D1994E) $22 and have bookmarked the video below to install when it gets here.

Worried that if the new switch doesn't open the window it might be the lock actuator which is quite a bit more $$$.
