I have a 2012 LT 4x4 Tahoe, everything factory except a Flowmaster super 40 that was professionally installed in 2016ish.

I have two issues:

1. I love this damn suv, but it acts like a serious spaz whenever I need to speed up quickly or even if I have cruise control on and go over a bridge. If I punch the gas, there's a little pause and then "reeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!" it's at like 5000-6000 rpm until I get into the next gear and then right back down 2000-3000 rpm.

2. It also seems like it down shifts into too low a gear if I have to slow down quickly. (kind of like when you're driving a manual and you start out in 2nd, instead of 4th), if Im going 75-80mph on the highway and slow down to 70, should it be such an issue to get back up to 75 without "reeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Thanks for any help.

Sounds like a transmission issue. I’d have a trans shop check it out and give you a diagnosis.

Sounds like it needs a tune to improve throttle response and tranny shift points.

it's really hard to diagnose a transmission issue over the internet I would do like mark said and take it to a reputable transmission shop in town, check facebook or yelp for reviews
