Ok guys there are so many threads reguarding HID kits.. Ive gone through and did a search and got all these links.. I did however stopped at the 5th page, but none the less all the info you need is there... So here is the quick and dirty on HIDS..

DDM Tuning is perfered, so im going to use them for refrence(i am in no way affiliated with DDM just a very happy customer).... they come in 55w or 35w in slim and normal ballast size. We dont really have a space issue in our trucks so either ballast would be ok.. Alot of people reccomend 35w for low beams and 55w for high beams.. Raptor Full Sized HID Kit (35W or 55W) is $30 USD, DDM HID Kit Slim Ballast (35W or 55W) $40 USD plus shipping in any color..

So now that you have decided to get HIDS you need to know your bulb size...Low beams for our trucks are 9006, High beams are 9005, and Fog lights are H3. Escalade and denali use 894 fog lights.

HID color FAQ
Color Temperature is a measurement in Degrees Kelvin that indicates the hue of a specific type of light source. Many people believe the misconception that color temperature is a rating of the brightness of the bulb or HID kit. This belief is completely false. The reality of the matter is that the higher the colour temperature, the less use able light output you will obtain. A perfect example would be a black light. This light has a colour temperature of approx 12,000k and has almost no useable light or lumens output. For maximum visibility, I would recommend staying within 4500K-6000K. The closer the color is to natural sunlight, the more you will see on the road.
3000k HID Kits: Yellow HID output - Ideal for fog light HID upgrades
4500k HID Kits: Bright white - Used in OEM HID applications.
5000k HID Kits: Crisp white - Bright white output with a slight bluish hue
6000k HID Kits: Bright white with a slight bluish/purplish tinge
8000k HID Kits: Blue output
10000k HID Kits: Purple with bluish tinge
12000k HID Kits: Strong purple

Here are some links all asking what HID kit to use and color..

If you want to run a ddm harness here is a link where someone asked..

So you have your ddm lights, you get all excited and go turn on your lights and..... NOTHING! after about 5 minutes of checking your connections and cussing up a storm you remembered this thead... Flip your harness plug.. Simple as that, the plug will go in either way.. Here are some threads that all had the same issue and fixed the same way..

Now if you have daytime running lights you might want to disable it.. I have not found anything proven just the stories.. When you go to start your truck your lights will turn on, then when you crank they turn off then turn back on after its started.. Some say over time this will fry the ballasts, i cannot confirm or deny this as i havent had a problem..My drl is still in working order as is my HIDS.

I tried to give as much people credit by using their threads, if i didnt use yours and you have something to add please do so.. We had 3 HID threads going in less than a week all asking the same question. So i figured i would put most of it one spot....

Understood. I can't recall how many times I've said the same thing on multiple threads asking the same question.

yeah, it started to get old with all those questions about HID, so this is an excellent initiative!
