I just replaced the HID lamp in my 2011 escalade. I am not happy with how the bulb is secured to the head light housing. Seems very flaky, like it could bounce out.
I have the black ring around the new bulb, but it does NOT snap in, or click into the housing.

Am I missing something?

These bulb sockets tend to harden and fracture over time. Inspect the socket carefully and see if it appears to be missing a piece or two. If so, replace the bulb socket with a new one.

I have not looked at how the escalade lights are designed but my guess is the hid bulb trim or the housing trim may need to be modified to fit in properly, you will need to take a closer look and see what is causing it to not fit in properly and correct it.

Do you have a pic and/or part # for the assembly you used?

Was the burnt out bulb also unable to snap in correctly?
