Hi from Indiana and a new?? purchase with a few issues I think

Hi as promised lots of questions no idea really where to start, 1st The service engine light is on, the autozone guy plugged in and found a ecm wiring code he said that could be well he had no clue but you get what you pay for I guess anyone have any ideas where to check or come across this issue?
2nd. Today the abs and brake lights came on, now Christmas is coming and the dash is looking festive with all these lights and colors on but I am getting concerned any ideas what could cause this , there will be other issues I am sure but these two are the ones that are front and center, the Vehicle a 2001 Denali Yukon 6 litre. 230000 miles.
Any suggestions would be great, Thanks

either you have short in the data bus, or you have a battery thats going bad. Id replace battery first and see where that gets you.

I don't know of any scanner picking up a short in a wire or even a "Ecm wiring code" .
Before you get further into this, have a shop scan it and start over. The battery idea is a good one , that is very possible. You have alot of electronics in you truck, if the battery is weak all your electronics will not work properly. It's a long shot but get a test light and check fuses, It could help too.

If there is a short it may not be in the ecu. could be in the wiring. but don't jump to that yet, start with the basics.

well short weekend again this weekend for me, I am leaving out Sunday before noon so I wont get chance to get a battery checked and changed but I thank everyone for taking the time to reply and I will get it done just may take a few weeks and I will put in a write up when I do

hi guys well a few weeks in and I like the Yukon, I changed the battery it does seem better though the service engine light is on the fuel gauge is all over from zero to well what ever but seems like its all good right now just new seat covers and body work when I get chance

the clusters are knowen to be faulty, there are many options when you are ready to fix that. search here and you will find it. these SUV's are amazing, I didn't know how much I would love mine when I got mine, I got it cause I had too and don't regret it one bit, now i have two.

When you say clusters you mean the main cluster in the dash ? there s a guy who offers rebuilds of them locally http://indianapolis.craigslist.org/aos/5364421089.html

or is it easier and cheaper to diy with the right guidance?

Yes the main cluster. If you are good with soldering the dot is good. But if not then take it in. May guys have done it here. I would say depends on you skill set and confidence. Parts are cheep enough
