Well, the time has come, to start modding the truck a bit. But as I start upgrading/updating, I'm in need of assistance. I'm by no means a mechanic, so I need assistance with choosing way I need & what I need. Below I shall list the pertinent information below.
Budget: $2,500
What I definitely know that I want:
1.) I want taillights similar to OEM Escalade ones, but I don't want to have to deal with splicing into wires, etc, so am I correct in thinking that if I purchase "G4 LED Tails" that it will be simple plug in play? And if so, where is a trusted source from which I can purchase them? Also, I would perfer to buy them smoked, but I can deal without it.
2.) I want an LED 3rd Brake light similar to that of the Escalade's. I was thinking of getting an Escalade 3rd brake light, but then I realized (in SuperChargedSS's write-up) that only the center of the light works, and to me that would just be a waste of money. I really like the 3rd brake light on Sumo's truck, so if anyone happens to know what brand/part number etc, that would be useful.
3.) I want some type of upgraded exhaust. I'm thinking Flowmasters, but I'm kinda, unsure. I want something with a noticeable rumble/exhaust note, but I don't want something that sounds completely redneck. If that makes any since at all, lol. Also, I'm slightly concerned about the look of the Flowmasters. I want duals, one on each side, but I want it to still look sophisticated.
4.) I know that I want some type of CAI, nor sure what brand, etc.
5.) I want HIDs, lows & fogs, light blue. And I'm not sure, do I need new headlights? Or can I just install them in the factory housings?
6.) I want to do an LED conversion. I mean, like, LED DRLS, turn signals, puddle lamps, interior lamps, etc. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
7.) I want chrome door handles, which I already know how to get them, just not sure about the install? I mean legit chrome handles, not covers. But anyway.
8.) I would like to find an insert for the area where the cupholder is. I believe that GM made one that was a cupholder + ashtray (or something like that) that was the same wood-look material.
9.) Would like some type of sturdy iPhone 4 docking solution.
10.) I will most likely end up purchasing another right-side third-row seat. (In Titanium). Because apparently, a previous owner broke the latches, etc. so I can't successfully remove the seat, or even fold it forward for that matter. So I expect that one day in the future, I will get annoyed and eventually end up ripping it out of the truck with rage, lol. I also know where to get that, I was just adding in some background, lol.
11.) Possibly an Escalade full roof rack.
Any information regarding part numbers, stores, etc. would be very appreciated. Like I said, I'm not too savvy when it comes to car modification, so please help, lol. i REALLY need help on the LEDs, and HIDs. I will most likely have the flowmasters professionally installed, because I'm pretty sure that the exhaust isn't something that I want just anyone doing. BTW, will any of these mods cause the truck's computer to freak & need flashed or anything? Also, will any of these mods cause the check engine light to illuminate? Just wondering. Thanks.
