Looks good but question: why the unpainted black parts on the front and the fenders? Color match all of it!!

That will be the next step, hopefully I get time to do it soon. Thanks

Is this a difficult thing to do? What did you do about the paint that was already there? Just sand until its gone, or sand "enough"?

Looks great by the way. True quality.

@Austinfranze is the one that gave me the idea and actually has a thread up. I used plasti dip as a base. Let it dry real good. Then paint away 3 to 4 coats (light coats) you don't want running paint or orange peel. Followed by 3 coats of clear. Let it cure and dry and surprisingly it is tough and feels like factory paint. In the future if you want chrome again just peal it. It is tougher to get of but it's possible. So check out that thread. Thanks

Plastidip as a base worries me since it is thick as well as meant to be removable. Could this cause issues down the road? I mean, if a spot tears, wouldn't you be sort of SOL?

Idk I will be experimenting with that I will keep up with this thread to see if I encounter any problems. So far it's all good though

Is any primer an alternative to PlastiDip? And did you sand at all, if so did you sand the original clear/paint or the plastidip?

Sorry, I've got 0 experience with this, so just kinda trying to get what I can. Thanks!

I prefer the DupliColor scratch fill primer when using rattle cans. Take the part you want to paint and sand it with 220 up to 800 (I usually stop with 400 for good bite) clean with wax/grease remover or acetone then let dry. If it's a plastic piece make sure you use adhesion promoter first, then primer, paint, and clear.

Thanks for the info! Now, to be more specific, is there a specific "paint", and clear coat? Just anything with "automotive" on the label? Or just anything at all?

DupliColor color match at the local big chain parts store is what I use. Just pull your paint code from the glove box and match it to they're color.

So crisp and clean. Even if you don't match the trim and flares it's still sick and with the grille matched it's perfectly matched and a balanced out black and blue
