Help Lifting!!!

I would like to achieve this.
All this time I have been researching lowering but since I have a 4X4 and have now grown to like the lifted look would someone point me in the right direction.
I see some kits on StylinTrucks that are around $1500-$2000.
Why is lifting more than lowering?

You wont get that lift for 2 grand, the resi-shocks cost that much alone on that thing lift cost more cause there are more pieces, fabrication, hardware and brackets from the makers. Also there are so many lift companies to choose from prices will very greatly. btw, i would look at other websites for the lift kits besides stylin trucks, you will find much more and good pricing.

Haha looks like you may want to go baco getting a drop now.
You can get a 3/5 drop kit with all hardaware like new shocks and extenders for about $800 OTD.
Then you could also add 24" wheels and tires for another $2500 and you'll be done.
Either way, whatever you decide you can check out Tim (the McGaughys retailor on this forum) for the drop kit and www.4wheelonline.com for a nice suspension lift!

lol, i was gonna asking if you had a 2 wheel drive i thought you did i was looking so hard at your pics to try and see if i could spot a cv axle but it was too hard to tell. Either way i nominate you the king of lifted 2 wd tahoes !

well I've made up my mind and back to lowering it is.
like nnaboy said for the same price I can lower it as much as I want and get a nice set of wheels.
don't say I didn't try though when all of you complain that I lowered a 4x4.


while I am still in this thread would anyone like to enlighten me on the last part of lowering that I haven't figured out...
you get the kit shocks, spindles, hardware, and torsion keys but for a 3/5 drop what do you need to modify?

1. cut the bumpstops/relocate them
2. ...fill in please

lol I'm 16 I can't afford to lift it.
thats way to much plus I'm horrible at saving.
lowering will be way easier to save for

i would just go for keys and spacers or even a body lift. its still a pretty decent amount of lift. Dont give up!!!

yeah that tahoe prob. has 10" or a little more of lift on it... I would go with aquinosteven and do like a leveling kit, or a 3" body. After that put a nice set of 20's and 33's on it, it would look good... i know what you mean about the saving money part! I want to put a FTS 15" on mine one day, but saving the money is going to be the hard part.
