Ok so Ill start from the beginning ...2003 Tahoe, 5.3v8, 205000 kms

- Approx 2 months ago, I went to start the truck and she was dead. boosted the truck, went about my day. shut off and started truck 3-4 times after the boost with no problem.

- 2-3 days later, went to go somewhere, truck was deader then dead.... boosted the battery and went about my day. Stop and started truck 2-3 times through out the day. No problem.

This happened a one or two more times and I went and bought a new battery. Everything was working fine until the last couple weeks. (The new battery has been in the truck for about a month and a half at the point. )

Now, My radio was acting up... it malfunctioned while trying to load a disk and i pulled the CD out and I noticed the radio was constantly trying to load or select a disk.

- Grand father went to start truck.... DEAD... no lights, radio, nothings.... boosted the truck and went about his trip, He only ran it for about an hour maybe. That was around 1pm, I came home and tried to start it about 8pm and it fired up fine ! I tried it two days later, it fired up fine. The next day, I went to go somewhere and it was DEAD !!!!! again NO lights, radio, dinging sound, NOTHING !

So I'm thinking at this point, the radio is maybe drawing power from the battery and killing it.
Also.... my idle has been "off" since all this started, My mechanic says its possible throwing the computer off when I have to boost it.

SO.... he said to bring it over and he would "clear" the computer. I did that... Idle "smoothed" out... and all of a sudden, my CD player is working, I can play disks, load and eject fine. Everything seems to be normal.

The battery held a charge all day that day, and it fired up NO problem the next morning. So I thought maybe that the radio drawing power might have been the problem and everything was good. WRONG.... Sunday I went to move the truck... completely dead.

I left it till yesterday when my buddy could come by and take a look. I boosted the truck and let it run in the drive way for about 2 hours. He came over and tested for a draw on the battery and found a .045 draw. Pulled every fuse and the draw didn't go away. We left it at that and now are stumped.
This morning I went outside to warm up my work truck and I thought "what the hell, lets try and see if the Hoe will start" ... so i turned the key and it fired up ?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!? Like WTF ?!?!!?!?

It sat and idled fine for about 10 minutes... then out of no where, decided it wanted to almost stall and started to idle like CRAP!!!!! The battery voltage meter was hovering just above 14V and was fluctuating a little.

I do get a code saying the truck is running lean on bank one( I dropped the truck off at the mechnics 3 weeks ago, but he never had a chance to look at it ) so I think I need to replace the MAF (we figured this from another time the truck was in the shop) ... but would that effect the idle that bad ? Also, that wouldn't have any effect on the battery.

I'm lost here..... HELP !!!!

could it be the alternator? try cleaning the MAF sensor and clean the throttle body. junk on the MAF or in the throttle body could be sending bad ratios to the computer.
