No way its a holster for a gun, doesn't look to be the right shape pus that angle would behard for insertion and removal.

Well you guys were close I guess since I could use it for self-defense. Its actually the mount for a window breaker/seat belt cutter. I used to be a first responder so I'm always thinking of the "what if" stuff. What if I come up on a burning vehicle with people trapped inside...what if I go off in a pond and need to break out...etc.
It has a flash light on the end too but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

Hey it's very likely you guys will have something happen at least once in your lifetime. In case some of you didn't read my post a month back, on my way to San Antonio for my BB tune, a lady rolled her car on the interstate 6x and landed right in front of my truck. The car was crumpled and I had to bang the windshield out to pull her ass to safety.
