Well it was the pinion angle that made my vibes so bad.

I was about 7* off and should have been 1-2 at most. Took my weekend to reset everything. I also did not like the rear shocks (caltec rears) and Ordered some QA-1 double adjust shocks. I know overkill. I have used these on my little strip street car for 10 years and really like them.

Leaving for NC mtns today and will let all know the mileage and the ride comfort.

5 people and a dog in my 2 dr! This will be fun!

unknown at this time.
You put angled shims between your axle pads and spring pads. as shown here.

I am too familiar with shims! I was more curious if he tried something else like relocating spring mounts or something

Yes did reset the angles with different mounts on tranny and the DJM setup allows for some movement. Got the angles back BUT still bad vibration.

Have had at 3 differnt tire stores and dealer and they say the wheels and tires are true..

I have apt with Drive Line specialists to check the drive axle and ujoints.

Really weird. Jack the truck up in rear by the pinion, turn on truck put in gear, rear wheels spin up to 60 smooth as a baby's a@#! Then all hell breaks loose wheels and tires vibrate something aweful.

Any suggestions would be great. The rear angle was off by 6 degrees and now is at the -1 desired.

I did replace the rear tranny mounts to get the angle of the tranny correct. These are new. The front where replaced when the tranny went last year with 198K on it.

Waiting for my apt with the advanced drive line specialist. Monday 12/5/11. Will drop my baby off then and hope they can fix.

Side note , I cancelled the $480 order for QA1 rear shocks, Went with KYB with 11" height at compression level and max of 19" extended. Seems to be good for my setup. The cal-max I got from DJM where 2 different sizes. the smaller would go to full extension and rattle.

Sad to say still vibrating , good vibes are not what I want!

Well truck at the drive line shop for 3 days, they finally drove it today.

They said WOW whats wrong with that thing..................DUH!

They removed the drive line and it was bent pretty bad. Said it took a lot of heat to re-straighten. Axle is being balanced today and reinstalled with new u-joints.

I sure hope this fixes the GOOD GOOD VIBES.............really the bad vibes

I was thinking your driveshaft may be out of balance.
Drive line = drive shaft?
If so, how does someone bend a driveshaft?

How do you like the KYBs?
I was hoping you kept the QA1s, I want them pretty bad.

How was your trip to the mountains?

Trip was good except didnt take the tahoe because of the vibes. Took wifes altima! Great ride really fast car but the a/c quit on the way back. Was cool out was not a problem. We did get 29.8 mpg wither her V6. pretty good mileage.

Yeah I just couldnt see putting $ into the QA-1's that into something I would not use on that truck. Now flashy big breaks that you can see I am working on.

ok had drive shaft balanced, it was straightened... 30thousand out of round.

I still have a back vibration.

What about hub centric rings? I don't have any on the truck. THe turck had centerline wheels prior to my Ultra's.

Any other ideas.
