gonna custom fiberglass my doors in my tahoe. gonna start building the doors next week.
right now im thinking about every door having dual 6.5's and 1 nx5 tweeter. front and back doors
do you think its enough, overkill or not enough?
i'll be running 2 FI BTL-N2 15s fully loaded with around 3000rms each)

just wanna be sure my mids/highs keep up with ease

thats whats up. i have some decent speakers now.. $250+ a pair but imo they suck. the freaking 6.5's have 3inch coils yet always crap out with a hpf at 60 or 80hz.
the crossover have messed up many times and overall they were never loud enough for me.

i just ordered my clarion eq and im gonna run pro audio mids with nx5 tweeters (best thing pa ever put their names on)
i think ima do dual 6.5's in the front but only 1 pair in the back. i think that will hold up well and if it doesnt then i'll add another pair in the back.

They should keep up like a champ. My one set of fosgate 6.5's scream with my 2 18" BTL's.

what are you running T1s or T2's

T1's I love em. I need another pair for the rear, but I think in my future I'll have 2 sets up front and one in back like your planning.

If youre gonna go through the work anyway.. run a paper cone 8 then your 6.5/ tweet.. it will play alot lower than the 6 and pulp speakers are SOOO much more warm and analog than composites ... if you REALLY wanna be sexy run paper 8s/composite 6.5s/titanium 3s and silk tweets.. imo.. the best set of truck doors i have EVER heard.. you dont have to go as bat shit with the rear doors.. just stage them nice.. but that front door setup is ******* HEAVEN

I run 2 sets of RF Prime 6.5 comps and they will pierce your ears. They're about to be on a RF 4.6x... Have you thought of running any 6x9s under the seats or side of the console. I love how they sound

If you're going through the work to 'glass a new set of panels, I'd go with a 3-way set with a mid-bass driver, mids, and tweets in the front door. This will give you more room to play with frequency division between the separate drivers and better sound quality.

10" B&C mids, no baby mids for this Yukon. lol

Seriously, it's is not a good idea to have multiple component sets. I know many people do it and it looks cool, but you will have serious cancellation issues and overall a poor soundstage. My single driver keeps up great with 4 18's at full tilt. :rocking:

I would go with one nice PA 8 before I would run 2 6.5's.

Just kidding... obviously.... your shit is ******* SEXY

You do start trading volume for stage eventually.. but sometimes its a fair exchange.. Vibe makes a sex 8/6/3/1 front end that just sounds unholy.. paper(8)Poly(6)silk and titanium.. i have never heard as much front stage in my freaking life.. he replaced a loaner set of Utopias with it and it works the utopias imo

HaHa, Yeah!
I actually thought about a 12, but chicken shit out of that and went with the 10. The 10 was hard enough, could not imagine a 15.

We did 4 independently placed focal coax polyglass (pulp and composite) and 2 paper focal 7inch loud speakers in the jag.. and it was ungodly.. (3 sealed 12s to back it all up)

So i cant imagine packing 4 paper 10s in there. People just dont know how different pro gear sounds if all they have ever heard is composite speakers.

i like the single 10 with that supertweeter you got there... but i think 2 8's would work out a little better for me.... yall have given me some ideas... the mad scientist now has to go to the junk yard and get some panels... lance whats in your rear doors... b/c me personally i still want rear fill.. thats why im thinking 8's in all doors and a nice bullet tweet like the nx5's or maybe going to something like the st350,crescendo's,p56d etc...

You know what would sound amazing and be a lil easier to make work than going all batty is do a Paper 7 and a high end 5.25 coax with stock tweeters.. i bet that is about as good as its gonna get in the smallest area possible..

You could (almost) get that packed into the stock area

i know i can do 2 6.5s with out needing to do anything other than cut the panel and mount the speakers in panel.
but i dont have stock tweeters, i have morels right now

2 6.5 pa mids in each front door and 1 6.5 pa mid in back doors should be plenty. i can get the whip audios super cheap

For sure... i was just thinking go pa in one hole and composite in the other.. then if you ran a 5.25 composite instead of a 6.5 you would have room to run a 7 in there with it.

+1 to morels btw.. i just meant stock tweet location.. moe so than actual stock tweets
