I bought a GMX550 and hooked it up to my 2007 tahoe, everything works ok except the IPOD will not show on the screen. It only shows a blue screen giving me the options to > for audio or < for video but when I use the seek functions it doesn't do anything. I can control the ipod audio through the ipod and it works fine, but not visual on the nav screen and no video at all under any conditions.
I called costal this morning and after describing the issue the guy immediately ask me if I had a back up camera on the unit. I said no and he told me I had to have the nav/dvd unit reflashed at the dealership to turn on the rear camera function before the GMX550 would display the ipod menu's. I had tired an ipod classic, nano, iphone 4s, and an ipad and got the same results so I guess I'll try the reflash now.
Do all of you with the GMX550 that use the ipod function have backup cameras or atleast the function turned on?
Can a dealership go in with a tech2 and turn on the backup camera, I thougth it was already set up for that? Also, my Tahoe does not have a back up camera installed. It does have Bose.
The nav/dvd head unit in my 07 tahoe came from another 07 tahoe and I had it unlocked to work in my Hoe. DVD/NAV in motion works fine, it's just the ipod screen that isn't working like I want it to.
