GM Tint, Trying to Match it

ok well i dont want to replace the glass, hopefully it matches up fine.

Did you take a look at mine? It's perfect. Ask the shop if they have a tint that matches the GM tint perfectly. If they hesitate for a second, go somewhere else.

Don't over-think this. I can't imagine that ANYONE has replaced his glass in order to start fresh and get the tinting matched. It shouldn't even enter your mind.

i just looked at it, its perfect. thats 25%? thats what i want, at night you cant see inside very well but you can see out perfect, and its legal in texas.


EDIT: I just got off the phone w/ executive motorsports in houston. they claim to be the only place in houston with 100% color match to gm smoked windows, they put 35% over the 70% thats on there and say its a perfect match so im excited, plus im getting a "visor" or "eyebrow" for 35 buck, the tint is only 69 bucks but its the best place in houston and comes w/ lifetime guarantee so the low price doesn't concern me.

Wait -- Are they putting tint on the factory-smoked windows as well? Or, are the front windows actually 70% from the factory (despite looking completely clear)?

Just asking, because they didn't add any tint to my truck except for the front windows. They shouldn't need to tint the already-smoked windows in order to get a match. If by 70% you were referring to the front windows, then nevermind -- go for it!

correct, only the front windows will be touched, they come w/ 70 while the other windows come w/ 25. the 70 with 35 on top comes out to be 25 with the exact color match the gm smoked 25 in the back.

There, I learned something new. Didn't know the fronts had a 70% tint rating already. Thanks for the info. Post pics when you get your done!

Yeah even the winshield has a 70% factory tint.
Its like a requirement in American vehicles for their to be atleast a 70% tint on the front two windows and the winshield.

Up here in Ontario Canada. The legal limit for driver and passanger is 35% see through. The back of my burb is 20% factory. I just had 20% put on the fronts today. They look good. I will see in a couple of days when I can clean them to see how close it really is. So far im impressed.

I just layed 5% over the stock tint, and then applied 5% to the front windows. and a 5% windshield visor.....its so damn dark....black looks black!!! Hey I live in AZ.. I want to block as much sun as I can.....

i have debated about getting 5%, it can be difficult at night to see but nothing beats the look of having blacked out windows. i would get 15% all the way around but it would be very difficult to find tint combinations that mix and match w/ the factory tint to make it all look good, plus the price sky rockets if i have to do a total of 7 windows versus two, so im just gonna go w/ the 35 or 30 over the 70 and it will come out to 25 and look good.

I have 5% over the factory glass all the way around and its pretty hard to see, but I liek it alot.
