I need opinions on gears...
My son inherited my 2007 Yukon with 3.42's. He has lifted the vehicle 8" and installed metric 34" tires. This truck can't get out of its own way... downshifting to go up small hills.
From my research, it sounds like 4.56 is the gear for this setup... but he's going away to college soon and there will be a lot of interstate driving in his future. I'm leaning toward 4.10's but I'm unsure if this will be enough gear.
Also, I just purchased another 2007 Yukon for my wife to drive. It had low miles and I couldn't see paying what they're asking for new ones these days. It is setup exactly like my son's truck... 5.3V8, 4 speed tranny, 3.42 gears.
I'm wanting to regear it also... Mainly for acceleration getting on the Interstate and a decrease in downshifting on hills. I'm thinking 3.73s for this stock vehicle but maybe 4.10's.
So, to recap... Lifted Yukon with 34's (4.56 or 4.10)
Stock Yukon (3.73 or 4.10)
