I have an 04 yukon with the check engine light on. The light is for a faulty fuel composition sensor. It has had the light on for 2 or 3 months & has ran fine except about a week ago it wouldn't start for a short period of time. My mechanic says the only reason I need this sensor is if I ever want to put ethanol fuel in the yukon. The sensor costs $782. Does anyone know of a dummy sensor or some way to get around spending so much for a part I probably wont need since I don't put ethanol in the vehicle?
