How do I start, I own a LS Tahoe that I bought way back in 06 when the new body style came out. I was in love. She was my new wife. Me and her were so happy, until, at 19895 miles her transmission went out. It was so disappointing, I had to ride a rental (Suburban) for about a month. When I got her back, I was jumping with joy, once again reunited, and boy, did we go everywhere, Vegas, Santa Barbara, San Diego, and back to Vegas quite a few times. 3 years later she started to crack. Right next to the airbag and another crack behind the speedometer, once again disappointment hit me. After 6 calls to GM, and then going to the dealer for inspection. She finally had the dashboard replaced and she was looking sexy again. Then, about a month ago at 92725 miles, I got a message saying something about the tire sensors not working correctly, then the following day, the airbag sensor needed service, and to top it all off, the check engine came on with a P0121, I was like "What the f$%k". The same week the transmission started giving me problems. It felt as if the spare tire was loose, and when you took off, the tire would hit, it was that kind of bump, that the transmission was doing. I took her in again to the dealer, of course now GM only pays $38 a day for a rental, and I got a fu*&in cobalt to drive for a week, till I got her back. A cobalt, with 3 kids under the age of 6, car seats. Alot of arguing with Enterprise, Camino Real Chevrolet, and GM directly, they finally gave me a Malibu, just slightly bigger than the cobal, but f*&k it, it's better than nothing. Then I get her back, with a brand new transmission, it was a happy moment, until the service guy informed me that the mechanics had told him, that the oil pressure message came on. I knew I needed an oil change, "but what the f$*k are you talking about. What Message?", I was thinking maybe the "change oil light came on", and that was what he was talking about. Oh well, let me take her home, but first let's go to the gas station and fill her up, as I was going there, a burnt smell came into the cabin, it smelled like plastic, that wasn't normal. I'll fill her up, and go back to the dealer, all of a sudden, a message came on, with a ding ding ding sound, kinda of like an alarm. It said "low oil pressure stop engine now." Straight to the dealer I went, and argued with the service rep, because he was insinuating that I had brought the Tahoe like that already. Once that was done. Back to enterprise, where I got a Chevy HHR, in other words a PT Cruiser. As I was getting home, I get a message in the console, "service airbag soon", What? turned around, got to enterprise, and they finally gave me a "Chevy Traverse". While my baby is at the dealer, of course wife now wants me to trader her in as soon as we get her, for Japanese vehicle. Oh well, that's it. Thanks for reading, I needed to tell my folks who understand me, and my frustration. Keep Hoeing..

Nope, I have had minor things but nothing that made me shit my pants yet haha. Then again I only have 1/4 the mileage you have.

this is what im thinking. I have 70k on my 05, and have had nothing wrong, only a leaking waterpump and fuel pump. Nothing else and i drive all the time. Sounds like a lemon to me. Or its the dealer messing with it. I used to own a ford lightning all modded out, they had to replace the heads under warranty, gave it back to me w/ no exhaust hooked up, no vaccum lines hooked up, and some other things not hooked up. Needless to say i didnt move. And the manager was the one that gave me the truck and said nothings wrong i looked it over myself.. ha ha... Yeah... i have, will, not go back to a dealer again. They are freaken idiots... (unless of course someone on here works there) :Handshake:

Being that my little brother owns an HHR and one of my closest friends has a PT Cruiser, I can honestly say that they are in no ways related. You'd have to be talking mad shit to compare the HHR to that thing. They may be the same size and designed by the same guy, but Chevy made the HHR MUCH better than the PT "Loser".

About your truck, I'd say get rid of it. Look for a different one or a different type of vehicle altogether. Whatever you do, good luck!

Still thinking of just trading my LS in, probably for an 08 lt or ltz. What you guys think.

I don't see what's bad about that idea. Definite upgrade. I love my 08 LT3, I'm only missing Autoride.

07 (Dec 2006) LT2 Tahoe - No problems, put on 15k and then it was totaled in 2008 (see photo album). City driven

07 LTZ Tahoe - Only major problems were: My dad ripped the door off at a gas station and a (cheap fix) Service 4WD message. Mountain stored/driven. 30k miles, tow jetskis every Summer.

08 SLT Yukon - No major problems. Rear defroster cable fell off but was easily fixed. 20k Miles. Mountain stored/driven

09 Denali - No major problems I was aware of. Bought with 33k, traded in at 38k for one with lower miles. City driven.

09 Denali - No major problems I am aware of. Bought with 5k, now has 11k. City driven.

That's what i'm saying, trade her in, I talked to the dealer yesterday, and they don't know why the oil pressure sensors is going off, so now they have get into the engine. Enterprise finally gave me a traverse, this fu*&er is roomy. But not a tahoe. Oh well, I guess I have to wait to see what happens. Still looking around, the wife wants a cadillac srx, I don't know about that. It looks like the same size as a equinox, and I need the room. Keep Hoeing

That would explain why is still an ugly car, regardless of whoever makes it.. Still thinking of just trading my LS in, probably for an 08 lt or ltz. What you guys think.

I got an 08 LTZ and love it.. auto ride is probably the best thing about the LTZ... I drove to ATL a few months ago in a 2010 Suburban LS rental and mine is a way smoother ride... even with my 24s the ride is better then the suburban on 17s... i know it sounds crazy but I guess you have to ride in a LTZ then a LT/LS if you do test drive for a new vehicle to -feel- the difference in ride. Anyways, whatever you do, good luck and get rid of that money guzzling lemon ASAP.

You might be able to make a case (although VERY VERY difficult) under the "lemon" law.... my grandpa (who has nothing but time on his hands) got a brand new car due to the lemon law....

in a nut shell... if the factory cannot fix a re-occuring problem, they MUST BY LAW, give you a new vehicle.... now again, VERY hard to do and will consume a great deal of your time, but a new vehicle would be a worthwhile payoff.

Parting Shot - my grandpa got a new car due to an air leak in the rear window! NO SHIT! the rear window whistled like an SOB and he took it in multiple times. the did everything, including replace the entire door... nothing fixed it... so he got his glasses out and, via the lemon law, got himself a new car...

So, if you have the time, patience, and a viable case (I have never read the law), you could get a new vehicle out of the deal.

oh wait, another parting shot - my and my wife are long time Tahoe/Yukon owners. She has had one since the OBS! she bought an 07 denali, traded it in after only 8 months of ownership and said that is the last one she will ever buy! She hated everything about it, and it was nothing but problems. She now has an 04 tahoe... NBS FTW

I don't think there's anything wrong with the 2007s in particular, I think it's just a random thing that happens with every year of every vehicle from every maker....

I have 70k miles on my Tahoe and I bought it in June 2008 with 30k on the odometer. I have not had a single issue with it....NOT A SINGLE ONE! I've never had to take it to the dealer to have anything fixed, repaired, or replaced....

It's mainly city driven but I mix in the occasional road trip once every month or two. It's been an unbelievably awesome vehicle for me....
