I just bought a 05 Tahoe in pretty good shape. I suspected it might have had a fender bender because the right side front bumper sags about an inch down but the other side seems fine though. Doing a little googling, I see it's kind of a common problem. Does anyone know the reason why this happens and is there a recommended fix?

One guy was putting scrap 2x4 on a hydraulic lift and jacking the bumper back into place. Another was using a long threaded rod to get it pulled up from the bottom of the valance to the body. Any thoughts on that?

If you look underneath there are brackets that you can loosen and use that 2x4 on top of the floor lift jack to push up and then re-tighten the brackets. If it was in an accident then it may be twisted and then need replaced. If so, I did replace mine, you can get a new one at Amazon for about $250 if I remember.

Thank you for your reply. I'll look under there tonight! I might be able to find them at the junkyard or something too.
