my Tahoe is gunna get a bpillar wall with my 4 18s within the next year... I'd like a bench seat so I can fit 3 people "me,wife, son". Will a Silverado bench bolt directly into a Tahoe? Or am I gunna have to have a buddy weld up a bracket?

Yes any gm full size front seat of the same model will bolt right in. Best way would be swap your center console for a flip up jump seat, so when you don't have 3 people you still have a arm rest/storage. I just swapped my jump seat out and put in a factory console

Did you previously have a bose system with the jump seat? I am converting from from console to center jump seat and i dont know where to put the bose amp or sub-woofer. I dont mind deleting the sub.

No I didn't have any bose. Also running all aftermarket audio setup. You should be able to relocate the factory amp to above the glove box... you might have to extend the wires though... as for the sub you could swap out to the sub/box setup in the 99-02 or just move the stock sub box to under the rear bench and extend the speaker wires

Unfortunately, I use my glove box so there's no room for an amp. I think I'm just going to let it sit on top of the carpet where its original location is. I think I'm just going to go without a sub. I too am going to switch to an after market amp and sub at some point so for now I just need the factory Bose amp to power the speakers

There is room behind/above the glove box. I didn't mean inside it. In some years I believe the factory amp was there to begin with.

Also you will have to change out the passenger lower dash/glove box panel for one without a console as well. It runs the full length back to the drivers panel. The console one stops at the side of the console so you would have a big hole there if you don't swap it

Dear Massive / Abishoff,
Did you guys end-up doing this?

I just did it in my 2013 Tahoe Z71 LT with bose. I removed the console, and installed the front jumpseat.

I'm in the process of putting everything back together, and assumed I would delete the sub, and keep the bose amp sitting on the carpet under the jumpseat. (the Bose amp just barely fits under jumpseat, if you raise the all the front seats with the ~1.5 inch seat lift kit that I'm also installing).

Now that I've read the tips from YukonXL04 (thanks), I'm considering relocating the sub to under second bench, and putting the amp in the dash above the glove box. I'm putting the LS version of the full carpet in the Tahoe when I'm done (which I believe is solid between the passenger and driver, i.e. under the front jump seat), so when I no longer need the front jump seat, I'd like for the amp to not be there.

If you got them, please link/post pics of the sub location under the second bench, and the amp above the glove box.

Thanks in advance.

PS Here is a pic of my Tahoe with the console removed.

Other questions:
1. That box that's sticking out of the carpet-- I was told it is some kind of traction control do-dad-- any issues with covering it with carpet?
2. Any issues with the bottom of the jumpseat being snug directly on top of (and touching) the top fins of the amp?

Thx

One more question: Has anyone relocated the rear AC controls from the original center console? I need all the cupholders the kids can get, so I'm thinking about mounting those controls *inside* the back of the cupholder compartment. It appears there may be just enough room, with the knobs nesting inside each cupholder when closed.
