Front Air Dam Removal??

Anyone remove their front air dam? I just put a 2.5" leveling kit and bigger tires on my 07 Tahoe and was curious about removing the front air dam?

How does it look? How easy is it to remove and put back on if I want to?

What affect does it have on the air-flow/performance?

I took mine off and it leaves some plastic slots hanging down like 1/2" that the tabs from the airdam slide into to hold it on..if you ever plan on re-installing it then do not trim those mounts. I ended up taking mine and trimmed it so it was just low enough to hide the mounting slots, then I just mounted it up like factory, but gained the ground clearance that I needed.

In the owners manual it talks about removing the air dam for offroading to improve ground clearance. It also says to reinstall it because without it the air flow gets messed up or something. I don't know how it works, but I don't have a wind tunnel to prove them wrong.

I just took the air dam off. No significant difference in driving, airflow, or fuel economy. But then again the lift and bigger tires probably out weight anything I would notice.

I did the same thing as InTruckDesign....The plastic slots/tabs were really ugly and unfinished looking.... It's super easy to trim as long as you have an air compressor, a cutoff wheel, and an orbital sander or even just a sanding block to clean it up afterwards...
