I use steel wool and glass cleaner for anything on the windows.

That's the problem in Florida is that hard, almost like an acid rain. Destroys paint unless your keep up on maintenance.

As always truck lookin perfect. Have you thought about a 6.0 engine cover?

@05Single

Yes I've heard about the steel wool trick, but had this stuff and the DA out so I went to town. The water is very hard here. I usually move the trucks when the sprinklers go off as that is the worst water spot contributor of all and try to wash them at least once per week since we live near the beach.

Even though we don't have the road salts like you snowy guys, the east winds always leave a salty sheen on the paint and then gets baked in by the sun. Heck, I even Rain X'd my house impact windows to try and keep the hard water deposits to a minimum from the sprinklers.

I've used half water and half vinegar with steel wool and it worked. Most of the time I just use 3m rubbing compound #1 and they come right off.

Took a few sunny shots after the detail.

I was showing our regular postman how I was detailing the paint and he asked how long ago it was since I painted it.

Told him it was 10 year old OEM paint. Must be doing something right. :D

I'm still wondering why he hasn't shaved his hatch yet

Exhaust tip would look clean. :hmm:
Street scene mirrors maybe.:hmm:
Denali engine cover.:hmm:
Street scene polished mesh grille inserts :hmm:

And maybe a cheap roll pan just to switch between roll pan and bumper just to give us guys a visual :High 5:

I like the looks of that tip or something along those lines, but haven't decided on anything yet.

Thx man. Lots of time on the DA wheel trying to keep her super shiny. That metallic Dark Ming Blue just pops in the sun. Pretty happy with the outcome of that detail work on the paint, especially the roof. That one kicked my ass!

I put the freshly painted Esky appliques back on the truck this past weekend. While they were off, I cleaned the vertical vents on the truck and compounded/waxed the paint behind the Esky appliques since it was exposed.

I turned my attention to the interior and started vacuuming, which then turned into detailing all the door panels and the 1st and 2nd row leather seats. I cannot believe how much dirt came off after giving all of them a good scrub with a Magic Eraser and some Surf City Garage Dash Away cleaner.

I then coated it all over with Lexol Leather Conditioner to nourish what I stripped off during the scrubbing. I also spot treated the back of the 2nd row seat carpet, finally getting rid of a few marks left over from ages ago.

After that, I decided to freshen up the calipers and rotors as they had rusted a bit. No use having good looking wheels with some rusty brake components sitting behind them, even if they are the tiny OEM ones. Now they are back to looking good behind the TBSS wheels. Silver on the calipers and gloss black on the rotors.

HD Hood Repainted

I'm super stoked that I finally got my hood back today. The hood has been off since before Christmas and had to go back for another shoot as we spotted a scratch/defect in the paint and some light/dark tiger stripes under the clear coat before we mounted it when I picked up the Esky vents.

My painter was pretty pissed that he had missed the defects, however you could not see it under the halogens in the shop. So he took it back in the shop right then, scuffed it up and shot it the same day as the booth was open and let it sit for another week. Thankfully they had enough paint left over too. They wheeled it out into the sun, eyeballed it up and down after wet sanding it and said we were good to go.

We looked it over again today and decided it was a winner and mounted it. I will give it a clay bar, polish, glaze and seal probably this weekend to get rid of the few foam pad swirls left behind, but she sure is shining.

This is the first time I have actually had the hood mounted without a paint reaction since he took it all the way back to the metal this go around and took care of the underlying corrosion properly. I sure am glad to have it back on so I can drive with this awesome Florida weather now. Plus, people will stop looking for the supercharger! lol

I left the bulbs that came with the Depos. The projector output is far superior to the OEM lights, even without a retrofit.

No amber in those LED bumper lights. Found them on eBay for pretty cheap, but have been unable to locate them again. They are still working great.

The 3 innermost lights act as the DRL, and the rest act as the blinker, all white LEDs.

Looks good and matches the LED fogs I updated. Still yellow halogens in headlights, but not bothered. Also have the Fleece Performance all lights on chip too.

Thx compliments man. The HD hood is for sure a winner!
I can't find a good one at all and I'm afraid of the aftermarket options. I guess I'll just focus on dropping her then see what happens
