ford torsion key install failure

i got the correct ford torsion keys to put in my 02 yukon xl and i got the old one out, but i do not have the torsion loader key so i just used c clamps. i used 2 clamps at once to load the ford key, but i couldnt get it past the opening for the mount for the bolt even after an hour of hard cranking. is there an easier way?

a 2 claw gear puller
they come as a 3 claw but you can just take one claw off and put the 2 claws across from each other
