Factory NAV making noise all the time

So, a little background on my setup... I have a '10 Yukon SLE with a GM Factory NAV unit installed about a week after I bought the vehicle. I have noticed this a few times and finally decided to see if anyone had insight on the situation. At any given time if I get into the truck, say to grab a paper, my wallet, etc. the NAV is making sounds.. kinda like the sound a CD player might make while trying to read a disc, like a searching sound.. Has anyone experienced this, if so is it "normal" ?

It is perfectly normal. The nav secretly kicks on to begin reading the map disc the second you unlock the truck or do anything at all that involves a wire, like opening the door or something. It will do it for 2 minutes or so then shut off.
