True wood is easier but it can't bend what I mean is some places I need flexibility + slimmer

Hmmm I am still confused

By the way for the main structure I was thinkig more like the FJ center console structure or base structure:

What I have in my mind is something like:
1st a base covering the sides and main strcure securing the console to the floor then the
2nd part wich is the cover and maybe contains the cup holders and the sockets and the boxes cover.

This to show the upper part as cover

And this a sckech I just did it may help:

unknown at this time.
Any more info from that project in the SUV you pictured. The companies that make those pretty much wont do the OBS any more. Actually would not mind buying a used one that is a custom fit to the OBS either.

Just to say what is happening in the back ground of this thread,

Yes I am still working on it the plan was to use metal but I fiund out it's hard to play with so I decided to use wood instead and I found extra features need to be added

1- 8' Subwofer
2- 3 lighter sockets (instead of the factory sockets + it cuts off power when I tur5 the truck off)
3- adding place for the SG2

as I said main material is wood and everything well be covered by sweet gray leather.

I well try to keep it up,

Ok,

I did some work today, I took the stock center console off the hoe as you can see:

I found a secret drawer:

I started the disassemble as you can see:

I sanded the metal pieces as you can see:

Now,

I am some how confused I may reuse the stock console but! I have to fix this:

As you can see the lift support is broken and so far I am out of ideas on how to fix it!

I managed to end the extra flexibility by glowing this area:
