Took a 07 Expedition out for a 20 mile drive, then a 07 Denali. When I got out of the Denali, my finger raked across the interior door handle and got a 1 inch laceration from the plastic chrome peeling. I bleed like a stuck pig. Is that something that needs to be addressed in all of the Yukons/Denalis, or a one of a kind thing. I am probably going to buy a XL in the future, and it will be the first non Ford product for me.

My wife drove both the Expedition and the Denali, trim aside, there was NO CONTEST. The GMC was the winner hands down on ride, performance, noise, comfort etc. Just not real thrilled about the interior door handles. Both sides were flaking. Is there a fix?

(Holy crap, that 6.2 MOVES!)

Thanks!

You can order new interior chrome handles for about $3 online, and either install them yourself or have the dealer do it. The 07's had a bad problem about this, in fact I think there was a service bulletin/recall about it,

I had never had a problem with the chrome handles... not on any of the tahoe's, yukon, or denali that we have

Neither have I, we've had multiples of all 3 GMT900's, but people seem to be posting more and more on it.

3 bucks and I can replace them every few years! I can live with that. Did you know that a Fuel Injection Control Modual for a Ford 6.0 diesel is 1,600 bucks? That I can not live with. This is the information I need. I do not mind tinkering with stuff, if it is a known problem, then there are fixes. Thanks for the replies. I just can't feed that 6.2 or it would probably be in the driveway. Thanks.

If there is anything else in the interior I need to be aware of? Forewarned is forearmed!

Thanks

Yeah, the 6.2 hauls but it likes premium fuel and lots of it. I have the 5.3 flex fuel and it's no 1/4 mile champ but it gets there. I like that i can run cheaper gas and burn less of it. My wife drives it mostly anyways so she doesn't beat the hell out of it. I'm a ford guy to and I've got to admit it hurt a little at first stepping into the garage and seeing the big GMC staring at me. I've gotten over it though i love the truck.:)
IMO if you want the Denali look go out and buy a grill for 300 bucks, an after market set of rims and a set of Denali decals and Voila no-one knows the difference and you're still riding in style.:party33:

It will be odd with a Yukon next to the Fairlane and Shelby Mustang, but hey, I can get over it.

I found Denali Grill.com and a lot of other accessories on here, so it is going to be fun.

Denali is efficient for what it was designed to do. I usually average between 18-20mpg on the highway cruising at 75mph. Mine is an XL version and AWD. It'll definitely surprise some people.

I don't have a problem with the handles. If it is under warranty why not have the dealer fix it? The interior trim has never been one of GM's strong points. Even the Esky uses fake wood and it costs $75k. Of course real wood is available for another $10k in their platinum package.

A few posts down are several folks with the same problem. That being said, there was NO comparison with the Expedition interior. The Denali just walked all over it, as did the run of the mill Yukon XLs. The Expedition is a brick, the Yukons and certainly the Denali has style, and lots of it. We just do too much town driving to run that 6.2. Now if gas was a buck and a half a gallon, game on:)

My 07 Denali has the razor like door handles. A small flat file fixes it.
