Exhaust 45 or straight back?

Talked to the mechanic about taking em straight back, he advised against it. Said if there is an exhaust leak it would leak in to the vehicle. My thoughts, if there is a leak I'm bringing it back!! Any thoughts or suggestions?

You tbi or vortec? If tbi go straight if vortec you gotta add dummy o2s. Are you doing real straight pipe or keepin the cats?

Ok yea I'm tbi and have straight no 45 but ends at cabin and yea lot of drone but I like it a lot and got flows so yea.. When I redo my exhaust I'm gonna do long tubes then no cats and maybe glass packs then go 45 dump around rear axle

I would ask how a straight out the back pipe compared to one that's at a 45 at the back will leak into the truck any less then any exhaust setup.
The whole thing is under the truck other then the end of the pipe.
Sounds like he needs to think about what he's saying alittle more.
