Visiting friends in Florida who have either 2007 or 08 Esky 2WD. The truck sits for a few months at a time in their condo's parking garage out of the elements as they live up north, but during that period of non use the battey is drained to the point it will not start the truck.

They brought it to the Caddy dealer and were told the battery was bad and the dealer put in a new battery. The problem has continued and when they brought it back in, the dealer said the Esky has a lot of elctronics and they all do that.

They also told him to get a battery tender but he doesn't have an outlet in the condo's parking garage.

I think there is a short somewhere or a module that is not powering down.

To compare, over the years he also has had a couple different Mercedes convertibles and an MB ML500 which have also sat for the same period in the same parkign garage and they have always held a charge.

I know I have left my BMW all winter (up north) without trickle charging and it never drained the battery over the winter.

Anyone know of any TSBs etc around this issue that he can arm himself with?

Thanks,
Vince

My 08 Tahoe drains like this, but my mom's 07 Escalade ESV doesn't. Maybe their Esky falls under the recall for the battery problems, have they checked that?

The factory battery is crap! I replaced mine with a Optima (Yellow Top) and have not had a problem since.
